  9. This program is for use on the 4040
  10. drive or it's dual drive eqivalent. It
  11. is public domain and was originally
  12. wriiten for the PET by an unknown
  13. person. Dual Log is Public Domain and
  14. may not be sold. This program is
  15. designed to keep track of what disks
  16. contain a certain file,disk ID's in use
  17. and the ability to "crunch" your disk
  18. collection.

  20. Please start by Headering a new disk
  21. and then copy Dual Log to this disk
  22. under any name you wish. This disk
  23. should be dicated to Dual Log and not
  24. have any other programs on it. Next
  25. just insert the disk in drive 0 (that's
  26. zero) and Load"DUAL LOG",8. For this
  27. program to work properly all file names
  28. should be in uppercase only and disks
  29. with "funny" directories should be
  30. avoided.

  32. You will know see the first of two
  33. menues. If you select (1) you should
  34. insert the disk to be logged in drive 1
  35. and follow the prompts. The index file
  36. and master file will be written to
  37. drive 0. If you select (3) you may step
  38. through all the disks on file by
  39.     tering "*" at the Enter Disk Name
  40. prompt. If you  select (4) and you are
  41. looking for a program by the name of
  42. "MR T'S SUPPORT" when you are prompted
  43. for the file name to search for you
  44. would enter: MR T'S SUPPORT* . This
  45. rule applies whenever you search even
  46. if you know the exact file name you
  47. must add a "*" as the last character.

  49. If you select (5) from the first menu
  50. you will then see the second menu. If
  51. you select (1) printing will start as
  52. soon as you enter 1. Any key will halt
  53. it and then any key wil    resume it. If
  54. you enter "Q" that will quit this mode.
  55. This same group of rules applies to any
  56. area of the program where you are
  57. printing or have selected a screen
  58. display in lieu of printing.

  60. Here are some ideas you may wish to
  61. use. I only log games that can be
  62. transfered to a disk and the file names
  63. are all visable and in UPPER CASE with
  64. no graphic symbols. This program uses
  65. "seq" files so searches can take some
  66. time. Because of this I don't log all
  67. my disks. Maybe just the 10 or 20 disk
  68. that you normal     use on a normal
  69. basis. I found manny duplications so I
  70. scratched a number of files. Manny
  71. games and programs became obsolete in
  72. this process. If this program is used
  73. properly you should be able to locate
  74. any file, avoid the use of the same ID
  75. number on two different disks,print
  76. your directories (sorted) and maxamize
  77. disk space.
